Public Meeting: Austerity, Welfare Cuts and Prison Building

Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1918701681744293

Our local NHS is under threat and under funded. Child and adult poverty is growing at an alarming rate. Our local schools are some of the poorest funded in the country. Instead of investing in the local community the government is planning to spend £100 million building a new ‘mega’ prison.

Now is the time to stand against austerity, welfare cuts and prison building.

Speakers:
Joanne Barr (JENGbA – jointenterprise.co)
Karen Parkin (NUT – wigannut.co.uk)
Karen Reissmann (Unison Health – unison.org.uk)
Malcom Jones (Social Work Action Network – socialworkfuture.org)
David Scott (The Open University – https://open.academia.edu/DScott)

There will also be 1 hour for open discussion from the floor (with beer).
